Diminshed Chords

What is a Diminished Chord?

A Diminshed chord contains a root, its minor third and a dimished fifth (I, iii, Vb) with the addition of a major sixth (VI) as shown in the schematic above.

There are 4 notes in a diminished chord so it is hard to invert the chord too much without loosing the flavour. The root/tonic should always be the lowest note played.
